Silverstein was formed in early 2000 in Ontario, Canada, and acquired it's name after the famous children's author by the same name. The band thrived to tear down the boundaries between hardcore, emo and punk and with the addition of guitarist Neil Boshart, after founding guitarist Richard McWalter left the band, a myriad of new influences and ideas came in which is believed to have solidified and enhanced the band's developing trademark sound.

The Kooks


The Kooks (named for the song appearing on David Bowie's "Hunky Dory") met while attending Brighton Music College in the mid-2000s. Each shared a liking for the Police, the Strokes, the Everly Brothers, and Funkadelic, thus forming the sweet and precocious sounds they have made. Before the end of 2005, the band's "You Don't Love Me" gave the band its first ever Top 20 hit. Their debut full-length is "Inside In/Inside Out."
