The show won't be knock-knock jokes or corny jokes or one liners. "I'm not a joke teller. I'm not smart enough to tell those knock-knock jokes and those other jokes and stuff like that," he said. Car Seat Headrest

Car Seat Headrest is Will Toledo, who as a teenager in Virginia started recording his own music on a laptop in his family's car. He uploaded a bunch of his pop songs to Bandcamp in 2010. They didn't go anywhere, but as he experimented with electronic insertions and distortions, his self-produced albums attracted the notice of a pop music critic for The New Yorker magazine, who described Toledo as an "oldies-obsessed pop prodigy perfecting his Beatles and Beach Boys melodies, mostly playing all the instruments himself." Now a fully fledged adult, Toledo has a band and has released an album under the Matador label titled "Teens of Style." His first studio album, "Teens of Denial," was released in 2016 and in 2018 he re-recorded and released work from 2011, "Twin Fantasy."

Reel Big Fish

Southern California ska-punk stalwarts Reel Big Fish, now veterans of the music scene for over 15 years, are perhaps best known for the 1997 hit 'Sell Out.' Still fronted by original lead singer and songwriter Aaron Barrett, they continue releasing albums and touring relentlessly, playing more and more countries and bigger venues all over the world. But perhaps the biggest change over the years is the band is now happy, released from a bad label contract and now able to write and produce music their way.

Here Come the Mummies

Not to be confused with The Mummies, the Bay Area garage band that was wearing mummy costumes in the early '90s. These guys are an eight-piece funk-rock outfit from Nashville, dressed as 5,000-year-old mummies, playing what they call Terrifying Funk From Beyond the Grave. (Or are they simply a Wrap group?) Since they were unearthed, they've opened for P-Funk, Al Green and Cheap Trick, rocked the Super Bowl Village, become regulars on "The Bob and Tom Show," and played a whole mess o' fests the last two years.

Taking Back Sunday

Taking Back Sunday is a rock band formed by guitarist Eddie Reyes on Long Island in 1999. It was at the forefront of the punk-pop movement that came to be known as emo – never as big as Nirvana, but in the same vein. In the years since, it has evolved toward power pop. "Rolling Stone" rated the band's 2002 album "Tell All Your Friends," the 23rd best emo album ever. Its founding members are all still in the mix, including guitarist John Nolan, bass player Shuan Cooper and lead vocalist Adam Lazzara.

While it may sound like an entire Balkan orchestra playing modern songs as mournful ballads and upbeat marches, Beirut is largely the work of one New Mexico native, Zach Condon. Horns, violins, cellos, ukuleles, mandolins, glockenspiels, drums, tambourines, congas, organs, pianos, clarinets and accordions are staples in his music, which builds and breaks the melodies under Condon’s deep-voiced crooner vocals, swaying to Eastern European beats.
