Kentucky Horse Park Run/Walk Club

The popular Kentucky Horse Park Run/Walk Club returns to the park on Monday nights this summer, May 6 through July 29 but not Memorial Day May 27. Each event night is free and open to people of all ages who would like to run or walk the park’s scenic grounds, each event is family-friendly, and leashed dogs are welcome. MayDaze Horse Trials

Equestrian

The MayDaze Horse Trials bring together more than 500 horses and their riders from approximately 20 states to compete in a 3-day event competition. Introductory to intermediate levels will be on display. This spring event is very beneficial in the training process for green to advanced horses and riders. A trade fair will also be taking place on the grounds in conjunction with this event.

KDA Annual Spring Show

Equestrian

The Spring Warm Up Show and the Annual Dressage Show combine for the first events of the season for the Kentucky Dressage Association (KDA). This event will feature United States Dressage Federation (USDF), United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), and International Federation of Equestrian Sports (FEI) sanctioned classes. Introductory level tests all the way up to Grand Prix level tests will be on display as well as suitability, Para-equestrian, and freestyle classes.

Summer Jam Concert

Rap/Hip Hop

Kentucky Summer Jam 2019 is a hip-hop fest held in Lexington, Kentucky. This year it includes some of the hip-hop greats like The Man, The Myth and The Legend Master P, alongside world-renowned DJ "DJ Kid Capri". It's a "Thug Holiday" with Trick Daddy performing all his greatest hits. Straight from the streets of ATL making your "Shoulder Lean" is Young Dro. Last but not least is Dip Sets captain turned Love & hip-hop star Jim Jones will be "Ballin". Hosted by Lexington's own funny man, comedian Larry Starks. And keeping the crowd entertained is The Elitegiance's own Dj-Znyce.

4H Horse Judging

See junior and senior 4H members compete in both individual and team halter and performance events. The top overall team and a team made of up the top individuals will be invited to participate at the Southern Regional 4-H Horse Championships for the chance to participate at the Quarter Horse Congress and Eastern Nationals 4-H Horse Round-Up.

Festival of the Bluegrass

Join us for the Festival of the Bluegrass, a traditional Bluegrass Music Festival in the heart of the beautiful Bluegrass region of Kentucky. Established in 1974, this family-run festival, described as a 'family reunion on steroids' has a little something for everyone. Kids events include a music camp (starts Tuesday) for youngsters 8-18 with an interest in bluegrass music. And there are all kinds of fun things that happen during the weekend: Pluck and Strum for the little ones, clogging for all ages, and food and craft vendors for you to peruse. Camping during the Festival is encouraged.

Country Heir Hunter Jumper Show I

The Country Heir I Hunter Jumper Show is a 5-day hunter/jumper show, and is the first part of a 2-part show conducted by Country Heir. This is a USEF-sanctioned event. The headlining classes include the $10,000 Welcome Prix, $40,000 George Hennessy Grand Prix II and the $30,000 US Hunter Jumper Association International Hunter Derby.

Lexington Rodeo

The Lexington Rodeo is a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) Pro Rodeo Event, and riders compete in exciting events including bareback, saddlebronc and bull riding, roping contests, and barrel racing. A share of the proceeds from the Rodeo benefits the Lexington Rotary Club.

Country Heir Hunter Jumper Show II

The Country Heir II Hunter Jumper Show is a 5-day hunter/jumper show, and is the second part of a 2-part show conducted by Country Heir. This is a USEF-sanctioned event. MidSouth PC Horse Trials Rally

Hundreds of competitors are expected to compete in Dressage, Cross Country, and Show Jumping. The MidSouth Horse Trials is also an Eventing competition, and it is open to outside competitors. Vendors will also be on site for this competition.

Lexington Carriage Classic Pleasure Driving Show

This 3-day driving event includes a show, educational seminars, driving-at-will, and social activities. The show is a USEF-approved local competition, and features competitions in Coaching, Pleasure and Show.

Extreme Mustang Makeover

Come watch trainers compete for $125,000 in cash and prizes. Created and presented by the Mustang Heritage Foundation, the purpose of the Extreme Mustang Makeover competition is to showcase the beauty, versatility and trainability of the American Mustangs. These event features mustangs aged 3-6 that have had little to no human contact. Approved trainers are paired with a mustang and have about 100 days to gentle and train it to compete in classes in handling, conditioning, pattern and trail riding. The Top 10 will compete in a freestyle finale on Saturday. At the conclusion all of the horses will be available for sale to the public.

Man o’ War 5K - 10K

Run or walk a 5K or 10K around the grounds of the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park and help us celebrate the legendary racehorse Man o' War. Registration takes place online until June 27, then on site beginning 7 am on race day. After the race, the top male and female finishers in their age groups will receive awards. Walkers, strollers and dogs on short leashes are welcome! Free parking. Ages 7 – adult.

KHPF Cross Country Schooling

Riders are given the opportunity to school their horses on the famous Kentucky Horse Park cross-country course. For a $35 fee, riders can school their horse for four hours on the course. $20 of the fee will be considered a donation and all proceeds will go to the KHP Foundation to help maintain and improve the park’s competition facilities.

Silverama Region 14 Arabian Championships

Known as one of the “toughest” shows in the Arabian Horse community, in terms of competition, this show has garnered praise and compliments from exhibitors nationwide for the quality of the facility – the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky – and the professionalism of those working to see that the show is one of the best in the country. And the Region 14 Championship event is also known as a show where you can bring your family, children and horses and take pleasure in a safe and relaxed atmosphere dedicated entirely to THE HORSE.

National Horse Show

Southern Lights Stroll – Presented by the KHP Foundation

Lace up, head out and help The Kentucky Horse Park turn on the lights! The Kentucky Horse Park invites you to help set the Holiday Season in motion as you join the 2019 Southern Lights Stroll on Thursday, November 14th at 6:30pm (competitive 5K), the stroll/walk starting immediately after. Imagine seeing the holiday lights on foot, set in the magnificent surroundings of the Kentucky Horse Park. This year you can team up with 3 Way Racing to provide chip timing for the competitive 5K race, complete with awards. Additional activities include complimentary Mini Train Rides and refreshments!
