USEA American Eventing Championships

The USEA American Eventing Championships is the annual national championship for every level of eventing from Beginner Novice to Advanced, with over $100,000 in prize money spread across all divisions. The AEC has become a central goal for eventers of every age and to even qualify is a pinnacle achievement. This championship is the only one in the country where a 12-year old girl riding her pony has the chance to compete alongside multiple Olympic riders.

Bluegrass Classic Dog Shows

Five days of all-breed conformation and obedience competition sponsored by the Lexington Kennel Club Inc., the Northern Kentucky Kennel Club Inc., and the Mid-Kentucky Kennel Club Inc. This show will include competition for more than 150 breeds, best-in-show competition, junior showmanship classes, obedience and rally, AKC Owner-Handler Series, Canine Good Citizen Test, and much more!

Rocky Mountain Horse Association International Horse Show

This show includes judging classes for Rocky Mountain Horses and exhibitors of all ages, with saddleseat, western, equitation, conformation, trail obstacle and bareback classes designed to showcase the versatility of this all-American breed. The Grand Championship classes will take place on Saturday afternoon.

CASA Superhero 5K/1K

Benefit/Fundraiser, For the Family, Health & Wellness/Nutrition

Superheroes of all ages will gather at the Kentucky Horse Park for the CASA Superhero Run. This is not your typical 5K! There will be superhero figurines along the course that can be redeemed at the finish line for special prizes. The 1K will start at 8:30 a.m. followed by the 5K at the conclusion or at 9 a.m. (whichever is later). Afterwards, there will be a variety of activities for all ages including costume contests for kids, adults, teams and pets all complete with prizes. There will also be games, inflatables, food, crafts, face painting and more. Bring your family and join our league of superheroes! Are you up for an even bigger challenge? We are asking at least 100 people to raise a minimum of $100. This funding will allow us to provide more CASA advocates to children in need. Be a true CASA superhero and join us in our #100people100dollars Challenge! Fundraising prizes will be given at the Superhero Run.

New Vocations Charity Thoroughbred Show

The Fifth Annual New Vocations Kentucky All-Thoroughbred Charity Horse Show is a hunter, jumper, dressage, western dressage, equitation and pleasure event that spotlights Thoroughbreds and emphasizes their careers beyond racing. Held in conjunction with The Jockey Club Thoroughbred Incentive Program Championships, the show caters specifically to Thoroughbreds, whether they have recently retired from the track or are seasoned show horses.

MSEDA Dressage at the Park

MSEDA’s mission is to promote and preserve the sports of Eventing and Dressage in the Mid-South area, by providing leadership and education to its members and the community at large. To further these goals, MSEDA will provide educational opportunities, fair and safe competitions, promote the welfare of the horse and rider and reward the pursuit of excellence from the grass roots to the FEI level. This 3-day dressage show draws competitors from Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Indiana, Georgia, and Florida, and around 100 to 150 horses compete in the event.

High Hope Steeplechase

The High Hope Steeplechase is a jump-racing event benefiting the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation and Central Kentucky Riding for Hope. Along with the steeplechase races, the day will feature Side Saddle Races, terrier races, pony relays and the Parade of Hounds, fun for the whole family. Tailgating is encouraged. High Hope Steeplechase will take place rain or shine, so please pack appropriate gear. Umbrellas ARE permitted. We are sorry, but refunds are not given for inclement weather. Admission ranges from $30 per car to corporate tents and picnic packages.

The KHP Foundation Battle in the Saddle is a celebrity team penning event benefiting the KHP Foundation. This event pairs two amateur team penning riders with a celebrity guest rider to determine who can pen the group of cattle in the quickest amount of time. Civilian Equine Sensory Training Clinics

Hosted by the Kentucky Horse Park Mounted Police and the Lexington, KY Mounted Police Unit, the clinics feature national and international instructors who provide obstacle, sensory and equitation training for horse and rider. All breeds of horses and riding disciplines are welcome to participate. Grounded in natural horsemanship fundamentals, both in-hand and under saddle instruction is conducted in a controlled environment, geared towards improving the confidence of both horse and rider. Guest instructors (scheduled to appear) are Kentucky Horse Park Mounted Police, Lexington Mounted Police, Jerry Mayo of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (retired), Megan Lau of the Maryland National Capital Park Police, and Toronto, Canada Mounted Police. Must be 18 years old to participate. (These are identical one-day clinics) These clinics serve as fundraisers for mounted police horses, Friends of the Lexington Mounted Police and the Kentucky Horse Park.

National Mounted Police Colloquium

This event brings together people and horses from all around the country to learn new techniques, share ideas, and train their amazing horses.

Southern Lights Stroll – Presented by the KHP Foundation

Lace up, head out and help The Kentucky Horse Park turn on the lights! The Kentucky Horse Park invites you to help set the Holiday Season in motion as you join the 2019 Southern Lights Stroll on Thursday, November 14th at 6:30pm (competitive 5K), the stroll/walk starting immediately after. Imagine seeing the holiday lights on foot, set in the magnificent surroundings of the Kentucky Horse Park. This year you can team up with 3 Way Racing to provide chip timing for the competitive 5K race, complete with awards. Additional activities include complimentary Mini Train Rides and refreshments!
