Three Dog Night, formed in 1967 as Redwood, was one of the biggest bands in the world from the late 1960s to the mid-'70s. They racked up 12 gold albums and 21 consecutive Billboard hit singles, seven of which went gold. Three went to the top: "Mama Told Me Not to Come," "Joy to the World" (Billboard's No. 1 hit of 1971) and "Black and White."
