You & Me: pairing photography with other artistic mediums

Art Show, Art Talk, Gallery, Ceramics/Pottery, Mixed Media, Photography, Painting

Imagine photography with paint, with drawing, with fiber, with sculpture. This exhibit pairs Mary Rezny’s photography with artists working in other mediums. Rezny, a mixed media photographer, uses digital, tradition and non-traditional techniques in her artwork to manipulate the photographic image. A favorite subject of hers is the magnolia tree which she has documented in a myriad of ways. Rezny asked four professional artists, working in other non-photographic mediums to select one of her photographs of the magnolia and expand on it by adding their medium to the image. Artists include Karen Spears – drawing; Marco Logsdon – painting; Stacey R. Chinn – sculpture, Arturo Alonzo Sandoval – fiber. The resulting imagery changes our conceived concept of a “photograph” and illustrates that a photograph has no limits and can be incorporated into many artistic medium. Artists reception: January 18th with Gallery Hop Artist Talk with participating artist: February 2nd 1-3PM
